One day, when Veleanar Horton was attending a church service, she had a sudden epiphany. After years of working in in financial services, international banking, and computer troubleshooting, it was time to change careers and work in a field that helped other people feel better.
She decided to go to school to become a licensed Massage therapist, which she did, graduating from the Atlanta School of Massage in 2013. She is now a member of the American Massage Therapy Association—the largest non-profit professional association for massage schools, students, and therapists.
In January 2020, Vel opened Therapeutic Massage and Wellness Spa in Greensboro. Trained in a variety of massage modalities, she can assist her clients with techniques such as Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Massage, Full Body Lymphatic Drainage, and Reflexology.
Vel is so excited to be a part of Georgia’s Lake Country, and looks forward to expanding her wellness business in service of her mission to “facilitate the healing of soft tissue injuries, to help relieve chronic pain, to help with relaxation with a compassionate touch for wellness and therapeutic benefits, and to continue with education to better serve my clients and the community.”
