Allied Arts and the Georgia College Music Department present Jazz at the Magnolia, an annual concert celebrating exceptional jazz and the region's vibrant arts community. Created to showcase outstanding regional jazz artists alongside Georgia College & State University faculty and student musicians, the event offers an evening of inspiring live performances in the elegant Magnolia Ballroom.
This year's featured guest is acclaimed trumpeter Pharez Whitted, who joins the GDC Trio for a dynamic performance highlighting his expressive style, masterful improvisation, and decades of jazz excellence. Audiences can expect a captivating blend of classic and contemporary jazz in an intimate concert setting.
Adding a unique artistic element to the evening, local artist Chad Wilson will create a live painting throughout the performance. Guests may purchase $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win the original artwork, with the winner announced that evening. Raffle tickets are available in advance at the Allied Arts office or at the event. Cash and Cash App are accepted for raffle ticket purchases.
The concert takes place on Saturday, September 19, from 7:30–9:00 PM at the Magnolia Ballroom, 231 W. Hancock St., Milledgeville, GA.
Admission is $20 in advance (plus a $2 online convenience fee) or $25 at the door, and includes refreshments. Proceeds benefit Georgia College & State University's Music Department and Allied Arts, supporting music education and community arts programming. Guests can enjoy an evening of outstanding live jazz while experiencing the creation of a one-of-a-kind work of art.
