Step back in time and explore the rich history of one of Milledgeville’s most notable historic homes during the Portraits of the Past Reception on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the historic Brown-Stetson-Sanford House.

This special evening celebrates the installation of two oil portraits depicting Dan Stetson and Edith Stetson, members of the family who transformed the former Brown Hotel into a private residence during the mid-19th century. The portraits are now displayed in the home's Music Room, where a historian will be available throughout the reception to share stories about the house, its residents, and Milledgeville’s fascinating past.

Guests will enjoy guided tours led by docents, access to the historical program in the Music Room, and light refreshments while experiencing the beauty and legacy of this treasured landmark.
