Towards Unity: Embodying the Eight Limbs of Yoga invites participants to gather each Thursday evening for an accessible exploration of yoga designed to reconnect them with the divinity that resides both within and around them.

Each session offers a blend of physical practice and educational inquiry, weaving together ancient teachings and modern understanding. Participants will explore:

• Classical Yoga Philosophy

• The Chakra System and the Energy Body: a framework for psychological and emotional development.

• Embodied Ecology: an exploration of the relationship between the body as the microcosm and the broader natural world and universe as the macrocosm.

Exploring the Eight Limbs

Through a playful yet insightful approach, the class guides participants through the Eight Limbs of Classical Yoga:

Yama & Niyama:

The ethical foundations that support clear seeing and spiritual growth. These timeless inquiries have inspired practitioners for centuries and provide a meaningful starting point for the yogic path.

Asana & Pranayama (Body & Breath):

Participants cultivate a deeper relationship with their lived experience through mindful movement and intentional breathing, learning to listen to the innate wisdom of the body.

Pratyahara (Turning Inward):

The practice introduces ways to gather the senses into the body and become more attuned to the inner world.

Dharana (Concentration), Dhyana (Meditation), and Samadhi (Union):

Using practical techniques rooted in ancient wisdom traditions and informed by modern neuroscience, participants are gently guided through the final three limbs to cultivate focus, meditation, and a sense of unity.
