Kid’s Spring Fishing Event
Bring the kids and their fishing rods to the Kid’s Spring Fishing Event at Lockerly Arboretum. In partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the pond will be stocked with fish to ensure a fun and easy fishing experience. Bait is provided—just cast a line and enjoy a relaxing day of outdoor family fun.

Childern's Trolley Tour: Princess & Hero Trolley Adventure
Young adventurers are invited to step into a world of fairytales and heroics during the Princess & Hero Trolley Adventure on Saturday, April 18, at 11:30 a.m. This one-hour children’s trolley tour is designed for ages 3–10 and transforms Milly the Trolley into a magical quest vehicle filled with imagination and interactive fun, with special appearances from favorite characters Superman and Cinderella.
Children are encouraged to arrive dressed as their favorite princesses, heroes, or storybook characters. Once aboard, guides will kick off the adventure with a costume parade and introductions, inviting each child to choose a special hero or princess name for the journey. A quest map sets the stage for the adventure as the trolley travels to local landmarks throughout Milledgeville.
Along the way, children will enjoy activities including singing, riddles, and mini challenges—such as striking a heroic pose or performing a royal curtsy. Photo opportunities are built in at each location, making it a memorable experience for both kids and caregivers.
A special prize will be awarded to children who complete every quest. Sing-alongs and interactive moments continue on the trolley between stops, keeping the adventure going from start to finish.

Putnam Reads invites families to lace up their sneakers for the Seuss on the Loose Fun Run & Festival on March 7 at Putnam County Primary School. Global Rhythm Classes
Explore how music is built from a rhythm-first perspective in this hands-on Global Rhythm class series led by percussionist Don Parker. Designed for 6th grade through adult learners, these sessions introduce the fundamentals of rhythm reading and drumming while drawing from a wide range of cultural and global music traditions.
Participants will learn basic rhythm notation, time signatures, and drumming techniques using hand drums and small percussion instruments. Through guided listening, demonstrations, and group activities, students will apply these skills to rhythms inspired by genres such as R&B, Hip-Hop, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and West African music. Each class concludes with a collaborative group session that brings together rhythm reading and performance techniques.
Whether you’re new to rhythm or looking to deepen your musical skills, this series offers an engaging and supportive way to learn.
Open to 6th grade–adult learners
75 per class or $195 for all three sessions

Join Freedom Church Milledgeville for the Celebrate Recovery Super Bowl LX Party on February 8 at 6:00 PM! Guests can enjoy the big game on four screens in the Youth Building.
