🍂 Downtown Eatonton’s Month-Long Scarecrow Contest & Showcase
Celebrate fall in Downtown Eatonton with the annual Scarecrow Contest & Showcase, running October 1–31. Stroll through town to see dozens of creative and festive scarecrows crafted by local businesses, organizations, and community members.
Visitors can cast their votes for their favorites in two categories—Business and Non-Business (NB).
There are two easy ways to vote:
Paper Ballot: Stop by the Main Street office at City Hall to vote as many times as you like.
QR Code: Scan the orange sign on each scarecrow to vote online (one vote per hour per IP address).
Winners will be announced via Facebook Live on November 1, so make your picks before the month ends!
CFA Milledgevilee Fall Festival 2025
The community is invited to the Annual Fall Festival, featuring a massive 50-foot inflatable obstacle course! Attendees can enjoy (soft) axe throwing, face painting, fall games, samples, and more. All the fun will be held in the back parking lot. This is a fantastic, action packed event for families to celebrate the season!
Trick or Treat in Tiger Country
Get ready for a spooktacular evening of family fun! Downtown Greensboro and Greene County High School are teaming up to host a FREE Community Trick-or-Treat on Tuesday, October 28th from 5:30-7:00 PM at Greene County High School.
Kids can enjoy a safe, festive night of candy collecting and Halloween excitement as local businesses, vendors, and community partners hand out treats. (Please note: vendors will be set up around the school, not at the football stadium this year.)

Metropolis Café invites the community to an epic Halloween celebration! Guests are encouraged to wear their best costumes for a chance to win a $75 Metropolis gift card. C&B Fall Market

Fall Foliage - Lake Drawdown Paddle

4th of July Organ Concert
Celebrate Independence Day with a stirring 4th of July Organ Concert at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, honoring the United States’ 249th birthday!
Held in the sanctuary and featuring the new Walker Organ, the free program includes crowd favorites and a historic performance of The Battle of Manassas by Blind Tom—believed to have played the piece in Milledgeville during the Civil War era. The concert also pays tribute to the 200th anniversary of Lafayette’s 1825 visit to the city.

Rock Eagle 4-H Center Fireworks Display
Each year, Rock Eagle hosts hundreds of 4-H campers over the seasons. One of the biggest camp sessions happens the week of July 4th, so a special firework show for the campers is always a highlight.
The fireworks will take place Wednesday, July 2nd at dark. You are welcome to enjoy the display from across the lake, but not near the campgrounds.
